He began learning the accordion at 8 years old to carry on
his music apprenticeship on the piano at age 14. Since then, music
always been his day-to-day companion. In
the early 70s he contributed to the recording of the first two records of Plume
Latraverse: TRINITERRE featured him on the piano, the accordion and the
Hammond organ B3, then PLUME POU DIGNE where his vocal back-up for the
famous tune "Quel calvaire!" earned him the nickname chorale.
In the latter recording, his
percussionist's talent was put to contribution as well.

Piano tuner for 30 years, it was at the famous CASANOUS club on Sherbrooke street in
Montreal that he began his piano tuner career. The CASA couldn't
afford to hire a professional piano tuner so
then Mario Bruneau had no choice but to tune the piano himself. In January and February
2007, he went to Vienna, Austria for a Master voicing and piano preparation training at the Wendl&Lung
piano fabrik. After, they ask him to be their partner in Québec.
-
- He also
started to tune accordions which led him to explore and study the
history, the building techniques , the tuning of this instrument and the new
technological developments. To share his knowledge and passion, he created
the Accordion MultiMedia Conference (now available in English) which he presented in Montmagny in
2007. For further information please contact him via e-mail
Using his Accordion MultiMedia Conference, he also teaches accordion and
piano tuning-repair in his studio and workshop in Stanstead, Québec.
-
- As composer, he wrote music for theater as
well as for TV5, CKMF, ONF, which
he produced in his studio.
