DEMO (what you hear
now) : 7 Min. in MP3 3Megs
Mario
Bruneau is a Paris-musette accordion specialist. Upon
hearing the firsts notes, his light style of playing immediately fill the spaces
with feelings of joy and joie de vivre whether
it be at a public event or a private venue, people are immediately
seduced. With his
original and eloquent interpretations, Mario Bruneau is often
referred to as the accordion poet.
His
love for the musette and his desire to preserve what he considers to be a world
patrimonial makes him one the the best musette accordion ambassador. It is
in 1992 that Mario Bruneau starts to play and learn the "MUSETTE"
repertoire. His 3 participations at the Carrefour Mondial
de l’accordéon de Montmagny (1994-95-96)
where noticed especially his performance at the first edition of "Les
Concert au clair de lune" at the Centre Éducatif des Migration. In
1999, he was invited to "Les Rencontres Européennes de l'Accordéon"
of Chartres in France. We heard him at Les
Fêtes Gourmandes,
la Fête des Vendanges Magog-Orford and le Canard en Fête de Knowlton.
Big Hôtels call him often like the Sheraton Centers from Montreal and Laval,
the Airport Hilton, the Palais des congrès de Montréal, Spa Eastman,
Château Bromont, etc. He was the accordionist of le Bateau-Mouche in
old Port of Montreal which he produced the musical theme (hear the musical
theme of the Bateau-Mouche .wav
650k) In 2006, an Italian accordion manufacturer from Castelfidardo hire
him to represent them at the Frankfurt MusikMesse in Germany.
For an
uplifting, romantic, poetic or nostalgic atmosphere, nothing beats MUSETTE!
Mario Bruneau can easily switch from one atmosphere to another whether it be
poetic ballads or some humoristic moments. He likes to invite people to
sing along with some well known songs. Although Musette is Mario Bruneau's
specialty, his experience allows him to play other styles occasionally which he
performs with as much intensity but keep in mind musette and old chanson
française accounts for 80% of his repertoire.
