Liselyn Adams moved to Canada in 1979 after finishing her studies at the New England Conservatory, Boston University, and the Royal Conservatory of The Netherlands. She joined the music department at Concordia University in 1980, and has taught a wide variety of courses in music performance, theory, and history. For several years, she coordinated the classical performance area, and was appointed Graduate Program Director in 1992. Liselyn Adams moved to the Associate Dean's office in June of 2002, holding the Research, Graduate Studies, and International Academic Relations portfolio for the Faculty of Fine Arts, and now is the Associate Vice-President, International for the university since 2005.
Equally at home on the modern and baroque flutes, she has performed as principal flutist with the Studio de musique ancienne de Montréal, the Carl Philipp Ensemble, Les Nations de Montréal and as a guest soloist in many cities in North America. She is a founding member of the Blue Rider Ensemble, which has premiered works by many Canadian and American composers, including works of instrumental theatre by Peter Hatch and collectively composed by the Ensemble. Québec poet and playwright, Michel Garneau, has been one of their most enthusiastic collaborators.
Pianist, Liane Alitowski, a native New Yorker , is a versatile soloist and chamber musician who has performed throughout the US, Israel, Europe, South America and Japan. She has been on the faculties of the University of Notre Dame, the Tel Aviv University, Sweden’s Paideia Institute in Stockholm, as well as Queens College and the 92nd Street Y in New York.
Ms. Alitowski earned her Bachelors and Masters degrees at Indiana University with Menahem Pressler (Beaux Arts Trio), and her Doctorate with Gil Kalish at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. She also performed extensively as the first resident pianist with New World Symphony, directed by Michael Tilson Thomas.
Ms. Alitowski has recently made Montréal her new home.

PIANO concert with Pierre Jasmin
Beethoven: guerre et paix
Saturday June 07th 2008
4PM to 6PM
M. Jasmin was so generous and delivered a Tremendous Beethoven!
The magnificent all-wood ceiling, shaped like an inverted boat hull, and the brightness of the surroundings.

Our
shows will always be special, with an orientation different that found
anywhere else. For example, there will be a guinguette (typical
French Parisian dancehall with accordion-fueled music) every Sunday from
May 4th through October the 25th.

For several years now we have been trying to transplant the concept to North America. It’s now done, and our guinguette will be the home of our duo, Le p'tit Musette which has performed to acclaim in Montreal, Quebec and Europe.
Other shows will be presented, focusing especially on the piano. It may be sublime, impressionistic, classical or jazzy, but always original.
Indeed,
thanks to our good friend Selma Tischer, we have the chance to have in
our possession a 7 foot Blüthner from 1893 that I have completely
restored and equipped with a modern Renner double escapement mechanism.
Plus, following my implication with the
piano maker from Vienna, I am the exclusive
representative in Canada. Those Viennese made pianos are build in Ningbo, China and despite their
low selling price, they compare to prestigious pianos selling twice as
much. Le Grand Frisson will also be equipped with a superb
Paulello concert grand from Stephen
Paulello, a French piano designer and partner of Wendl&Lung.
Our piano showroom is in the basement of Le Grand Frisson. Call me
for a visit where you will be able to try them. (819)

It is on those magnificent instruments that we will present to you our original music from our CD albums. Other artists and musicians will join us to present a cultural program of high level.
That will contribute to the magic of the events.
Your thrills combined with those from the artists will cause we are sure,

Piano and accordion tuning - repair workshop
Please note that I also teach piano and accordion tuning-repair.
Those courses take the form of 3 hours blocks given in my studio and workshop at Le Grand Frisson in Stanstead, Quebec. The first course theoretically oriented is given using my Accordion MultiMedia Conference to illustrate my teaching and to give a general, overall and complete overview of all aspects of the accordion or piano but especially the theoretical knowledge needed for tuning and the student returns with hardcopy documents to further his knowledge. The second course is where the practical aspect is covered and the student is invited to bring his own accordion. The cost is $150/3hours for one person and $50 each additional persons up to a maximum of 6 persons (Total $400). Please call me at (819) 876-2794 or send me an email

Stanstead is only 1.5 hours drive from Montreal and less than 20 minutes from Magog or Sherbrooke. The region as a lot to offer regarding food, restaurants or lodging, here are some places worth considering.
469, Principale street, west Magog, (819) 868-8808 If you pass by Magog, I highly recommend this restaurant. The chef Daniel Charbonneau is in my opinion, the best-kept secret in Quebec. With Mélanie Alain, he will make all sort of menus full of originality and surprises that never compromise good tastes. Big originality with savors inspired by recipes gathered from food books from around the world (that you can consult on premise). The most surprising is that Daniel Charbonneau never go wrong! If you're from Magog, you don't have good enough excuse to not go to Les Péchés de Pinocchio, lucky you!
Renowned for its refined cuisine, luxurious accommodations and exceptional recreation facilities. Ripplecove Inn enjoys a stunning lakeside setting on a peninsula in the heart of Quebec's Eastern Townships.
On my visit, I was very impressed by their setup and their exceptional cuisine. Also surprised by their prices which are very reasonable considering the offering.
This is my favorite 5 stars place in the Eastern Townships.
Right in front of Le Grand Frisson in Beebe, there is a charming crêperie Bretonne. Le Tomifobia2 Elm street (corner Principale), Stanstead, (819) 876-7590 Why not a picnic on Le Grand Frisson's lawn? At the bakery La Feuillantine of Stanstead, you will find everything necessary for a dream picnic. Here is the description from Quartiers Gourmands :
