pianos now on sale in Quebec!

If you visited my calendar page, you already know about the fascination I had for the Wendl&Lung Viennese pianos during my  participation to the 2006 Frankfurt MusikMesse in Germany.  Following a tour of the accordion makers in France and Italy in November 2005, the Brandoni-Bompezzo accordion maker from Castelfidardo Italy, hired me to represent them at the 2006 Frankfurt MusikMesse.  While visiting the piano pavilion, the new invention of a fourth pedal for the piano attracted my attention to the Wendl&Lung booth.  Skeptical I start to play on one of their pianos until they finish helping some other visitors.  I was so impressed by the musicality of this piano that I completely forgot about the fourth pedal invention.  Each and everyone of the notes are immediately perceivable even with big polyphonic passages.  Attracted by my enthusiasm, they came to me and we had a very nice chat.  Then it occurred to me that all the members of the Wendl&Lung team are real artists and accomplished musicians as well as fine piano technicians - tuners.  All share the same goal: to produce the best piano possible and a "musical instrument aimed for the production of ...music"  It is refreshing to meet people animated by the same passion for music as your own.

Only past my emotions did I asked myself about the price thinking a Viennese piano, you bet, it will be like Bosendörfer, Bechstein, Blüthner, other prestigious European pianos, out of reach!  What a surprise to learn that the model 178 (5' 10") grand was selling for half the price of a 6' Yamaha C3!  This is what happen when Wendl & Lung Klavierbau & vertriebs GmbH a prestigious piano maker from Austria since 1910 share its savoir-faire with the Ningbo Hailun Musical Instrument Co. Ltd., one of the most important and modern Hi-Tech piano parts manufacturer from China, to put the Hi-Tech driven ultra precise machines into contribution for producing an outstanding piano at a lower cost.  Thanks to the three generations of the Wendl&Lung family that preceded him, M. Peter Veletzky saw the enormous potential and the opportunity to build an "ideal" piano.  It is important to notice at this point that China is able to produce outstanding pianos at low cost not only because of its cheap labor but mostly because of its technological advance that their partnership with Europe countries like Germany and Austria has given them.  For instance, look at those tree pictures from the Hailun plant and tell me how many workers can you count?

It is in Vienna, home of outstanding piano manufacturers that the Wendl&Lung pianos are designed since 1910.  Almost one hundred years of know-how and a thrive to perfection represented today by Peter Veletzky direct descendant of the fourth generation of the Wendl&Lung family.

Not surprising the fantastic success of the Wendl&Lung pianos in Europe now.  More than 300 sales points across Europe with 50 in France alone represented by LES MAÎTRES DU PIANOS.  Produced by the most modern manufacturer of China which made  piano parts for years, Wendl&Lung pianos equals quality and prestige finally affordable for all.  Wendl&Lung is not afraid of being compared to pianos 2 to 3 times as expensive.  A Wendl&Lung piano as been already used in the GOLDENER SAAL of the  MUSIKVEREIN in Vienna august the 16th 2005.

After 30 years helping people to get the best piano possible and at the best price, this "coup de coeur" was all that I needed to start business.  To partner with people animated by the same passion for the piano and music and to participate at the writing of a piano page history was an opportunity I couldn't let go.  Following a master class in voicing and piano preparation at Wendl&Lung in Vienna in January and February 2007, I now sell those pianos in Quebec under the name Hailun.

I'm the first one to offer those pianos in Canada.  I have setup a show room in the church I purchased in Stanstead and I invite you to come and try them.  I am located in the Eastern Townships at 65 Principale, Stanstead (Beebe Plain), Quebec.

    Upon a call from you in advance, I am open for a demonstration 7 days/week.  (819) 876-2794.

But what about the fourth pedal?  Well, invented in France by M. Denis de la Rochefordière, it is called the harmonic pedal and it is really not a "gadget".  Wendl&Lung is now working in collaboration with Stephen Paulello and Claire Pichet to include the fourth pedal in option in their concert piano serie.  To find out more, please visit their site at HARMONIC PIANO PEDAL
